Have you ever wondered how we polish diamonds?
1. PLANNING: Using the human eye in combination with scanning technologies, we are able to ascertain the best result for any particular rough stone.
2. SAWING: If, during the planing process it is decided that it is best to split the rough diamond into two or more polished diamonds, then the stone in its rough would be sawed. Sawing is the act of splitting a rough diamond by burning through the stone with the use of lasers.
3. BLOCKING: Polishing the four bezel and four pavilion facets provisionally along with the table.
4. CROSSWORK: Putting the eight bezel and pavilion facets very precisely on the stone.
5. FINISHING ANND BRILLIANDEERING: In this final step, we make sure all the main facets from cross-work have been perfectly polished. We also add extra smaller facets to optimise light reflectivity, in the form of stars, bottom, and top halves.
